About the Mark Stebbins Community Center

For the past several years, Manchester's community leaders have had an ongoing conversation: what can we do to support the West Side of Manchester?  Mark Stebbins was a strong advocate of Manchester’s Nonprofit community for the past 20 years and gave generously of both his time and talents to support their missions. He encouraged nonprofits to collaborate to be stronger together and left a lasting philanthropic legacy that includes:

  • $1 million donation to the Manchester Boys and Girls Club Camp Foster renovations and addition to the Union Street club house,
  • $500,000 donation to renovate the Easterseals headquarters in Manchester,
  • $250,000 to expand the Leader In Me program to all the city schools on Manchester’s West Side and bringing the AHA Healthy Hearts programming to both Gossler Park Elementary School and the Manchester Boys and Girls Club.
  • $250,000 to establish Waypoint’s Youth Resource Center in Manchester
  • $150,000 to the YMCA’s Center for Youth and Teen Leadership in Manchester
  • Over 60 years giving to the Granite United Way through employee campaigns that were matched by PROCON

In honor of his memory, in November 2021, 30 community and nonprofit leaders gathered with the Stebbins Family to kick-off the planning and concept for the Mark Stebbins Community Center. The Center will be home to several nonprofit organizations who will provide collaborative services for families and children on the West Side of Manchester under one roof. This Center will be accessible and centrally located to serve the West Side community.

The Mark Stebbins Community Center is a duly incorporated New Hampshire voluntary (non-profit) corporation with the Secretary of State and registered with the Charitable Trust Unit of the Attorney General’s Office as a public charity, and has our 501(c)3 status with the Internal Revenue Service.
