Mark Stebbins, a Manchester native, was a successful entrepreneur with ownership in a diverse portfolio of companies that he led including PROCON, XSS Hotels, Stebbins Commercial Properties, Monarch Communities, and Coolcore.

As Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PROCON, Mark Stebbins was the third generation to lead the family business in its 87-year existence.  Mark’s visionary leadership transformed PROCON into the largest design and construction firm in the Northeast. He led with kindness, confidence, resilience, optimism, and gratitude. Mark radiated optimism, took a sincere interest in everyone he met, and always expressed gratitude for all aspects of his life.

He made his mark on the built environment and in business, but also felt a deep need to give back to the community. He was generous both financially and with his time and expertise, pushing non-profits to think strategically, to collaborate, and to develop sustainable models. Together with his wife, Sally, he joyfully supported organizations that helped children and families throughout New Hampshire including Granite United Way, the Manchester Boys and Girls Club, Easterseals NH/VT, Manchester YMCA, The Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester and Waypoint.

Mark Stebbins was a strong advocate of Manchester’s Nonprofit community for the past 20 years and gave generously of both his time and talents to support their missions. He encouraged nonprofits to collaborate to be stronger together and left a lasting philanthropic legacy that includes:

    • $1 million donation to the Manchester Boys and Girls Club Camp Foster renovations and addition to the Union Street club house,
    • $500,000 donation to renovate the Easterseals headquarters in Manchester,
    • $250,000 to expand the Leader In Me program to all the city schools on Manchester’s West Side and bringing the AHA Healthy Hearts programming to both Gossler Park Elementary School and the Manchester Boys and Girls Club.
    • $250,000 to establish Waypoint’s Youth Resource Center in Manchester
    • $150,000 to the YMCA’s Center for Youth and Teen Leadership in Manchester
    • Over 60 years giving to the Granite United Way through employee campaigns that were matched by PROCON

The Mark Stebbins Community Center will honor Mark’s legacy by providing social services from a broad range of non-profits to support families and children in need on the West Side of Manchester.
